Title:  Going for the Gold:  Improving Women's OR Efficiency

Problem:  OR on time starts and room turnover are delayed resulting in patient, physician and staff dissatisfaction.

Goals:  Improve patient satisfaction in regard to entire OR experience.  Improve staff satisfaction related to OR efficiency and communication.  Improve physician satisfaction.  Improve 1st case on time starts to 80%.  Improve 20 minute room turnover to 80%.

Methods:  Staff and Physician Barriers Survey.  Work Teams developed for each major barrier.

Outcomes:  First case on time starts improved from 31% to 80%.  Room Turnover goal met improved from 5% to 68%.  Patient satisfaction improved on Press Ganey from 85 to 91 %.  Staff amd physician satisfaction improved.  Initiatives are ongoing to meet initial goals.
