Biographical Sketch: Dr. Young received her MSN from the University of Missouri - Kansas City as an adult health Clinical Nurse Specialist; a post-masters from the University of TN Health Sciences Center - Memphis, TN as a Family Nurse Practitioner; and a Doctorate of Nursing Science - clinical from the Univesity of Tennessee HSC, Memphis, TN. She is an Associate Professor at Texas Tech University HSC, Lubbock, TX, teaching in the Family Nurse Practitioner Track of the graduate program. She is certified as an FNP by the ANCC and is certified SANE-a by the International Association of Forensic Nurses. She has written and presented widely on physical assessment of the female genitalia, domestic violence, women with genital piercings, emergency contraception, and sexual abuse and assault.
