Biographical Sketch: Dr. Charles Zonfa is the Chief of Women’s Health Services with Ohio Permanente Medical Group in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to his clinical practice as an OB/GYN generalist, Dr. Zonfa has a special interest in Patient Safety, Risk Management, and Quality. This interest has led him to serve on numerous committees dealing with patient safety both within the Ohio Region and Kaiser Permanente nationally. By working closely with the contracted community hospitals in Ohio, Dr. Zonfa has helped to transfer the Kaiser Permanente Perinatal Patient Safety Project to the Ohio region. This project has been successfully implemented in Ohio and will serve as the template to create similar programs in other departments throughout the hospital systems.
