Biographical Sketch: Dahna Wright is a registered nurse with over 17 years in Maternal-Child Health. After receiving a BSN degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, she joined Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) as charge nurse for the Mother-Baby unit and later Assistant Nurse Manager for NICU. Dahna developed and implemented policies, procedures and educational programs for neonatal care and development. Her focus in quality assurance and performance improvement facilitated compliance and enhanced productivity for perinatal clinicians and staff. Her current role as a Perinatal Clinical Specialist for Women’s and Children’s Clinical Program for HCA includes facilitating evidenced-based best practices for perinatal clinicians within the company to effectively augment their abilities to improve outcomes for maternal and neonatal patients. Using a team approach, Dahna supports hospital, division, and corporate departments in the planning and implementation of safety programs and national standards and guidelines targeting the care of the neonatal population.
