Biographical Sketch: Donna Frye is currently Clinical Director of the HCA Perinatal Safety Initiative. Over her 30 year nursing career, Donna has served as a staff nurse, charge nurse, nursing manager, clinical nurse specialist, and risk manager. Donna was on faculty at the Wichita State University and the College of Nursing at the University of Kentucky. In her current role, Donna has led teams in implementation of standard fetal heart monitoring, maternal medication safety protocols, and on-line education for physician and nursing on fetal heart monitoring, operative vaginal delivery, and shoulder dystocia. Donna was a 2007 National Patient Safety Fellow. Donna has served as an educator and facilitator for many groups. She has previously been a presentor at both the NANN and AWHONN national Conferences.
