Biographical Sketch: Education: Diploma in Nursing - Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing, Dayton, Ohio, 1976. BSN - Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, 1982. MSN - University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, 1999. Internation Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, certified in 1991.
Experience: I have worked in the Obstetrical areas at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio for the past 26 years. This is a tertiary center. I have been a staff nurse for mother/baby and antepartum patients, childbirth educator, clinical nurse educator, lactation consultant, and associate nurse manager. For the past 2 years I have been in the role of Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist. Since 1994 I have been adjunct faculty for junior Maternity students at Cedarville University and Clark State Community College. For the past 18 months I have been privilaged to be involved in the Sigma Theta Tau Maternal Child Leadership Academy in a Mentor/Mentee relationship. My Mentor and I have co-facilitated our hospital's Family Centered Care (FCC) committee and made great strides in promoting FCC at our institution.
