Biographical Sketch: Earned BSN in 1981 from University of Southwestern Louisiana, MN in 1985 from Louisiana State University, DNS in 1994 from Louisiana State University, Post-Doctoral FNP Fellowship in 1998 from University of Tennessee, & completed a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in 2000 at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Currently serves as Professor and Coordinator of the FNP Program at Southern University and Adjunct Professor at Louisiana State University. Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner from ANCC and as a APRN Clinical Nurse Specialist. Has received numerous honors, including a nomination for "Nightingale Nurse of the Year" in 2002 from the Louisiana State Nurses Foundation. Has conducted numerous research studies, secured grants, published several articles and book chapters, presented at many local, state, and national conferences, serves on Boards and committees of numerous local institutions, and has advised dozens of theses/dissertations. Serves as Research Consultant for the Woman's Hospital Nursing Research Council.
