Biographical Sketch: Cindy Loring received her Bachelors in Nursing from Boston University and her Masters in Nursing from Boston College. She has over 35 years experience in academic teaching, clinical education and perinatal nursing in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. For 10 years she served as an officer in AWHONN at the section and district levels. She also served AWHONN as a member of the Lifelines Editorial Board for 6 years. She maintains her NCC certification in Inpatient Obstetrics and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. In 2002 she received the Nurse of the Year Award from the New Hampshire Nurses' Association. She currently holds the position of Clinical Nurse Educator on a postpartum/nursery unit at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts where she has recently been appointed to co-chair the Brigham & Women's Patient Education Committee.
