Biographical Sketch: Bio sketch of Elen Porter
Education: BSN, 2005, Ohio University
Certification: Low Risk Newborn, NCC, 1987-Present
Experience: Elen has been in a leadership position for eight years. She has mentored and precepted new nursing staff and coordinates the orientation process. Elen has designed and teaches a development course for charge nurses. Elen was key in educating staff about shared governance concepts, she is co-chair of the hospital clinical nurse manager committee and participates in the Clinical Coordinating Council. Elen serves as an examiner for the Ohio Partnership for Excellence program.
Presentation Experience: Regional VHA presentation on shared governance; ongoing presentations to nursing staff, ex leads monthly staff meetings and Quality of Worklife team meetings.
