Biographical Sketch: Tara Renkas is currently working as the Obstetrical RN Manager of the Prenatal Clinic, for the Calgary Foothills Primary Care Network. Tara’s education includes obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan, as well as her Masters of Nursing from the University of Calgary. Tara has worked as a Registered Nurse in diverse settings, including Labour and Delivery, Postpartum, and Community Health. Tara has worked as a Clinical Educator in both Labour and Delivery and Community. As Obstetrical RN Manager, Tara works within the Obstetrical Clinic as well as outside the clinic to plan, develop, coordinate, enhance and promote a clinic that is reflective of the vision for the Primary Care Network. The role includes creating and enhancing a well-functioning, interdisciplinary, patient centered practice that provides obstetrical care across the continuum, from antepartum, intrapartum, to postpartum, and community. The role also includes communication and liaison with different health professions and team members, including, but not limited to, nurse practioners, patients and families, registered nurses, prenatal physicians and family practices.
