Biographical Sketch: I graduated form Mount San Antonio College in 1992. I have been working in Labor and Delivery at Montclair Hospital Medical Center since 1995. In 2006 I started working on developing a program for our patients experiencing a loss. In the past our hospital really did not have much for our families that had lost a baby. I began to work at home, on my computer creating announcements, footprint cards, and memento cards. I found a wonderful retired women that hand makes clothing of all sizes, and gives them to us free of charge. I contacted area mortuaries in search of programs catering to families having to bury a baby, and families with limited incomes. I also researched various handouts on grief to help these families go through the grieving process. I have compiled all of this information and placed it in folders in both English and Spanish. Because our hospital is a small community hospital I have had to create this program with almost no money so our patients would have some memories and mementos from the child they had lost.
