Biographical Sketch: Dr. Kathleen King is a Professor Emeritus, retired from the University of Rochester School of Nursing. She received her MS and PhD from the University of Rochester and completed a 2 year post doctoral fellowship as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar after receiving her PhD. Dr. King served on facuty at the UR SON from 1986 through 2007. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and in the Cardiovacular Nursing Council of the American Heart Association. She has authored over 50 articles, primarily focusing on coping with cardiovascular illness and women and coronary heart disease. Her most recent research explored the relationship between gestational diabetes and cardiovascular risk in women.
