Biographical Sketch: Karen has worked with childbearing families for over 25 years. She recieved her BSN from Oral Robert University, Tulsa, Oklahoma and MS from Georgia State University, as a perinatal clinical nurse specialist and women’s health care nurse practitioner. She has worked in a variety of settings including a grant funded Healthy Start program. She is currently working as High Risk Perinatal Nurse Practitioner at hospital based clinic and develops protocols for the high risk team. Karen has taught in two nursing school programs, and teachs childbirth and breastfeeding classes to both staff and parents. She has presented at regional AWHONN meetings, numerous nursing grand rounds and hospital inservices.
