Biographical Sketch: Ann L. Bianchi is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the College of Nursing, University of Alabama, Huntsville, Huntsville, Alabama. She is a certified childbirth educator and certified doula and conducts doula certification training programs for staff nurses. She is co-recipient of an AWHONN 2001 Research Grant award sponsored by Johnson and Johnson Pediatric Institute Marshal Klaus, Mother-Baby. Research entitled: Intrapartum Nurses as Doulas: Increasing Training in Supportive Behaviors to Aid in the Reduction of Cesarean Rates, Length of Labor and Anesthesia and Analgesia Use. She participated in a Round Table discussion on Labor Support for Lifelines and served as a consultant with AWHONN and Injoy for Video entitled: High-Touch Nursing Care During Labor Vol. 2: First Stage Labor Support. She is currently a member of the 2009 Convention Program Committee.
