Biographical Sketch: Mary C. Brucker, CNM, PhD, FACNM is Professor and Director of Graduate Programs at Baylor University, the Louise Herrington School of Nursing in Dallas Texas. She was previously the Director of the Parkland School of Nurse-Midwifery and the University of Texas Southwestern Nurse Practitioner Program. Dr. Brucker has been a nurse-midwife for more than 30 years and has cared for women in a variety of sites, including public and private settings. She has written and spoken widely on areas of women's health care locally, nationally and internationally. She is active in several professional organizations, including AWHONN, the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the advisory committee for advanced practice nursing to the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
