Healthcare organizations across the United States are looking for initiatives to standardize perinatal healthcare. Through standardization and best practice models patient outcomes and safety will be enhanced. Working with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and using the Model for Improvement, multiple hospital teams have engaged in change. These efforts include use of grouped patient safety interventions or ‘bundles’. Bundles for augmentation and elective induction of labor, as well as vacuum-assisted delivery will be reviewed and results examined.
