PC8 - Chronic Illness in Pregnancy

Chronic illness in pregnancy is affecting an increasing number of women. Advances in medical knowledge and technology have created opportunites for women with chronic illnesses to become pregnant. Some of the conditions that will be discussed include: cardiovascular disease, obesity, immune deficiency disorders, cancer, infectious disease and clotting disorders. Nursing care of these women requires knowledge of chronic medical illnesses as well as obstetrics.
