WN 1 - What's New in Neonatal Nursing

Neonatal intensive care nursing is a knowledge and labor intensive specialty. Current trends in patient safety, work hours and models of care will influence our practice. Challenges of the rising premature birth rate and at risk populations will face those at all care levels. The neonatal nursing profession will have to grapple with the drive toward evidenced based practice, while acknowledging the value of experience in improving quality care to our at risk and vulnerable populations.
