D6 - From OB Infection to Sepsis and Shock: The Nurse's Role

Learning Objectives:
- Identify common and uncommon infections during pregnancy.
- Describe current management of certain infections in pregnancy.
- Develop a nursing care plan for the patient with signs and symptoms of sepsis.
Pregnant women are at increased risk for developing common and uncommon infections. Nurses are integral in the assessment of development of sepsis and preventing septic shock. This presentation will review the role of the nurse in caring for the pregnant woman with developing infections.
