Learning Objectives:
- Describe the impact of error in healthcare environments today.
- Explain various organizations’ initiatives to address patient safety within their discipline.
- Explain needed directions to ensure patient safety emphasizing interdisciplinary strategies for the future and how professional organizations can work together to achieve them.
A panel composed of leaders from among AWHONN’s collaborative partners will discuss their organization’s and discipline’s perspective on communication and its impact on patient safety in the United States. Hear what each organization is doing about it, and what we collectively in partnership are doing and can do in the future. This is an AWHONN “first time event” that includes the Presidents from key partner organizations engaged in cross discipline exchange about a highly significant shared issue.
