Learning Objectives:
 
  - Provide information that empowers healthcare providers to implement the Baby-Friendly® Hospital Initiative.
 - Identify successful strategies for overcoming barriers to implementing the Baby-Friendly® Hospital Initiative.
 - Recognize the importance of the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and its effect on breastfeeding protection.
 
	The Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding as outlined by WHO/UNICEF is the foundation for the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative.  This initiative, while supported by copious amounts of evidence, still only exist in less than 5% of U.S. Hospitals.  This presentation seeks to empower nurses to support and advocate for the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative.
