Learning Objectives:
 
  - Discuss selected interprofessional research findings about how communication among caregivers may improve or jeopardize perinatal patient safety.
 - Characterize the value of collaboration among nursing, physician and midwifery, and health policy organizations.
 - Explain implications to perinatal safety of inter-professional collaboration among those who care for women and newborns.
 
	A panel composed of leaders from AWHONN’s collaborative partners will discuss their work surrounding communication among caregivers and its impact on patient safety.   The panel will include representatives from organizations who have been actively involved in the research study, Crucial Conversations Among Caregivers during Labor and Delivery.   This study represents  continued positive movement towards increased collaboration among the professional organizations involved in the care of women and newborns.
