  1. Identify several state-level law/policy changes that positively impacted women’s health.
  2. Identify several state-level law/policy changes that positively impacted the health of infants.
  3. Describe how nurses can influence health policy.
Submission Description:
The implementation of the Affordable Care Act has placed an extraordinary demand on nurses and other health care leaders to simultaneously reduce health care costs and improve patient safety. Yet, many areas of the country have been engaging in reforms for some time with notable successes to show for it. This session will focus on the lessons learned in three states. The panel of speakers will discuss how state-level policies and legislation prompted quality improvement efforts in the areas of maternal and child health.
