  • After vewing the poster, the participant will be able to: Identify the most frequent scenarios leading to newborn falls in the hospital setting.
  • Describe strategies to help prevent newborn falls.
  • Discuss the role of parental education in preventing newborn falls.

  • Submission Description:
    New parents are exhausted and are prone to falling asleep while holding their babies. We dramatically reduced our incidence of newborn falls through a comprehensive falls prevention program, focused on parent and family education.

    The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
