Learning Objectives:
  • The learner will be able to state the incidence and prevalence of non-consensual sexual activity among college women.
  • The learner will be able to state the relationship between alcohol use and sexual consent behaviors among college women.
  • The learner will be able to list 2 counseling strategies to improve sexual safety among college women.

  • Submission Description:
    Female college students, ages 18-25, are significantly more likely to experience sexual violence, compared to women of any other age group, and compared to same women of the same age who are not on college campuses. This presentation will report on the incidence of forced sex, alcohol use, and sexual consent behaviors among a population of female college students.

    The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
