  • To discuss professional issues in abortion care provision with colleagues

  • Submission Description:
A sub-set of interviews from a qualitative study (N=25) designed to identify the continuum between conscientious objectors and designated staff in the nursing care of women seeking abortions will be presented. We sought to gain a deeper understanding of processes that nurses use when making decisions in ethically challenging situations, using abortion as the clinical context. In these interviews half of the nurses (N=12) spoke about recruitment and retention strategies for nurses in abortion care.
