  • Discuss the challenges that exist in rounding on the L&D unit.
  • Describe positive affects in staff once rounding became accepted as part of unit rountine
  • Describe positive affects to unit throughput as a result of rounding.

  • Submission Description:
    The Pavilion for Women instituted daily rounding with involves leadership, charge nurse, bedside nurse making patient rounds everyday on the L&D unit. Questions asked include: What is your patient’s history and diagnosis? What category tracing is your fetal heart rate strip? What concerns you most about this patient? What is the plan of care for this patient? Do you feel safe with this assignment? Do you have all the equipment needed to care for patient?
