  • The learner will be able to identify primary prevention strategies for IDE and NAS especially as it relates to women's health

  • Submission Description:
    This presentation reviews the epidemiology of substance abuse in America over the past 30yrs and how this relates to the alarming rise of Intrauterine Drug Exposure and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome. We will examine the effects of IDE on the fetus and newborn and examine current best practice for NAS. We will aslo review how IDE/NAS relates as a public health crisis and will examine prevention primary strategies for NAS.
