  • Recognize how best to interpret the results when technical problems have occurred; provide actual examples of classic pathophysiologies

  • Submission Description:
    This session will focus on critical concepts related to interpretation of umbilical cord gases. Discussion of normal umbilical cord gas values, the relationship between pH and blood gas values, patterns of abnormal values, pathophysiology, and how to recognize when birth asphyxia has occurred will be covered. This presentation will provide learners with tools to increase their confidence related to interpretation of umbilical cord gases.
