Learning Objectives:
  • • Describe a strategy to determine next steps for action following a root cause analysis after a maternal death
  • • Evaluate care in presented case studies
  • • Determine interventions that could have improved recognition and management of maternal compromise.

  • Submission Description:
    A root cause analysis is required for all unanticipated events. Maternal mortality is a rare event. Care issues prior to maternal mortality will be reviewed in case studies. In addition, the case studies will outline opportunities to improve care and outcomes.
