Title: B3 - Leading in a Time of Change—Empowering All Nurses!

Disciplines: Obstetric (OB), Professional Issues (PI), Women’s Health (WH)

Learning Objectives:
  • Discuss current focus in obstetric care on the implementation of patient safety initiatives.
  • Discuss importance of mentoring in the development of nurse leaders at the unit level.
  • Describe a successful nurse led patient safety initiative.

  • Submission Description:
What does it take to lead a quality improvement project in your unit? Hospital system? State? Having the right person to initiate that change can mean the difference between success and failure. That person may be you! An RN on nights, an educator, a director, or a weekend per diem nurse. This discussion will provide you with the resources, insight and confidence to succeed in implementing patient safety initiatives in your hospital, community and state.
