PC6 - Madness of Methamphetamine (Crank) and Crack Cocaine in Pregnancy: Maternal and Neonatal Identification, Treatment and Outcomes

During this dynamic and interactive workshop, discover the varying characteristics and outcomes of mothers and newborns exposed to crank (methamphetamine) and crack (cocaine). Become savvy in the language and identify the paraphernalia of pregnant women who use illicit drugs. Investigate innovative methods of recognizing mothers who use, as well as, characteristics of their newborns. Eradicate myths such as “only young teens use drugs” and ‘we don’t have mother’s who use,” by discovering individual state and local information and referral resources. Go away from this energizing workshop equipped and empowered to share new expertise and insight into drugs that impact our practices daily.
