The Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) is a community-based process that examines fetal and infant deaths. Unique among all health indicators, infant mortality serves as a measure of a community's health. Community and hospital team members identify situations where resources or services may improve maternal and neonatal outcomes. Nurses are valuable team members and should be knowledgeable about the FIMR team in their community.
