This presentation will focus on the newborn with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) including risk factors, pathophysiology of the growth restricted fetus and newborn, placenta transfer of nutrients, acute consequences in the fetus and neonate, neonatal adaptive problems and growth alterations. Assessment and management of these infants and long term outcomes will also be covered.
