Learning Objectives:
- Describe the most common sexual changes during pregnancy and after childbirth.
- Identify evidence based strategies to inform and advise couples who are having difficulties during this period.
- Highlight strategies that couples can use to accommodate changes during this important time.
Many women (and their partners!) describe significant changes to their sex life before and after childbirth. What are the factors contributing both positively and negatively to this and what do nurses need to know to provide evidence-based advice to these couples?
