Title: B2 - A New Stoned Age: Drugs In the Lives of Today's Adolescents

Learning Objectives:
- Describe current trends in drugs use during adolescence based on national surveys and current research
- Distinguish signs and symptoms of drug use whether it is early, mid or late use.
- Examine drug use preventions and interventions that are both best practice and promising approaches.
The adolescent drug scene is markedly different from the 60's. Designer drugs, prescription drugs and new uses of household products require providers to have a whole new skill set for assessment and intervention. A discussion about the drugs in use today, signs and symptoms of early, middle and late use and the important resource a clinician can be to the adolescent and her family.
