Title: A5 - Women and Heart Disease: Across the Lifespan

Learning Objectives:
  1. Identify cardiovascular risk factors that occur in women across their lifespan.
  2. Discuss typical, atypical and prodromal symptoms of heart disease in women.
  3. Describe traditional and novel cardiovascular diagnostic strategies in women.
Submission Description:
Heart disease is the #1 killer of women and women of all ages are at risk. Younger women may develop premature heart disease due to unique or pregnancy related risk factors. Middle-aged women develop a clustering of heart disease risk factors around menopause. Women also present with atypical and prodromal heart attack symptoms.
