Title: A5 - Women and Heart Disease: Across the Lifespan

Learning Objectives:
- Identify cardiovascular risk factors that occur in women across their lifespan.
- Discuss typical, atypical and prodromal symptoms of heart disease in women.
- Describe traditional and novel cardiovascular diagnostic strategies in women.
Heart disease is the #1 killer of women and women of all ages are at risk. Younger women may develop premature heart disease due to unique or pregnancy related risk factors. Middle-aged women develop a clustering of heart disease risk factors around menopause. Women also present with atypical and prodromal heart attack symptoms.
