Title: A8 - Emergencies and Complications in Maternal Perinatal Anesthesia Care: The Importance of Vigilance and Effective Communication

Learning Objectives:
- Describe the mechanisms, prevention and treatment of maternal hypotension during neuraxial labor analgesia.
- Identify the key features that distinguish post-dural puncture headache from other types of postpartum headache.
- Recognize the clinical presentation of meningitis after neuraxial analgesia or anesthesia.
This session will present information and concepts about complications of maternal anesthesia care. These complications range in incidence from common to rare, with varying degrees of severity. Strategies to prevent these complications and minimize their clinical impact will be discussed. Patient safety is enhanced through knowledge, vigilance, and communication between members of the OB care team.
