Worldwide, obstetric hemorrhage is the single most significant cause of maternal morbidity and mortality, accounting for 25-30% of all maternal deaths. In the US, about 17% of maternal deaths are caused by hemorrhage and felt to be "preventable". The session will look at best practice in anticipating and confronting postpartum hemorrhage, utilizing an evidence based multidisciplinary clinical guideline to improve outcomes.
