C7 - NRP Now: How Does It Work?

Disciplines: Professional Issues (PI), Advanced Practice (AP)

Learning Objectives:
  1. Identify components of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program that have changed in the 2011 curriculum and why these changes occurred.
  2. Review essential elements of an NRP Provider course and discuss methods for tailoring the course to meet the learning objectives of each participant.
  3. Describe strategies for integrating simulation and debriefing into the NRP learning experience.
Submission Description:
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is now an immersive, hands-on, interactive experience. While simulation-based learning is more engaging for instructors and course participants, the NRP instructor needs to plan ahead to meet the unique learning objectives of each participant. Learn about why and how NRP has changed, the components of the 2011 NRP course, and how to design a course that works.
