- Describe different definitions of vitamin D deficiency.
- Identify three potential benefits of vitamin D supplementation for women's health.
- Discuss the implications of the new Dietary References Intakes for vitamin D.
There has been recent excitement and skepticism about vitamin D and women's health. Conflicting reports about the definition of vitamin D deficiency and how much supplementation is needed have made it difficult to make recommendations for patients. This session will explore new evidence about the role of vitamin D in women's health, pregnancy, and, lactation.
