- Discuss the explosion of social networking in society.
- Identify potential legal and ethical issues for healthcare clinicians involved in social networking.
- List and describe three key strategies for risk reduction related to the use of social networking sites.
Many healthcare professionals reach out to friends, family and co-workers using social networking tools and sites, and some even connect with current and former patients this way. This session will explore the legal and ethical implications of social networking and will illuminate some of the unintended consequences that can adversely affect clinicians. Explore the pros and cons of “being connected” in today’s electronic society.
