E7 - Implementing Evidence-Based Care of the Late Preterm Infant

Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe preliminary findings of the AWHONN Late Preterm Infant Research-Based Practice (RBP) Project.
  2. Discuss changes in nursing practice following implementation of evidence-based guidelines related to caring for late preterm infants and their mothers.
  3. Apply principles for implementing new evidence-based policies and procedures related to care of the preterm infant.
Submission Description:
The AWHONN Late Preterm Infant Research-Based Practice (RBP) Project is in its final phase. The Principal Investigator and one of the 15 Site Coordinators will share the research and preliminary results of this international study charged with implementing the newly developed Evidence-Based Guideline (EBG) for care of late preterm infants. The experience and process for implementing change, incorporating a multidisciplinary approach, and hardwiring practice improvement will be shared.
