Learning Objectives:
- Relate the risk factors that predispose the childbearing woman to placental abnormalities.
- Discuss the development of a multidisciplinary plan of care for the patient with placenta previa, accreta, increta or percreta.
- Describe evaluation of a plan of care with relationship to maternal and fetal outcomes.
This presentation will outline the patient at risk for placental anomalies, focusing on prenatal diagnosis. Risk factors and management strategies will be presented and a sample case study will review in a debriefing format the outcomes for both the mother and infant.
