Learning Objectives:
- Describe the basic components of simulation based training; scenario writing, debriefing and program evaluation.
- Discuss how simulation based training can be utilized to establish best practices and validate existing unit policies and procedures.
- Review how simulation based training can augment documentation of required education including basic life support and neonatal resuscitation.
This interactive four hour workshop is aimed at enhancing effectiveness of simulation training. Targeted toward educators and clinical specialists, the workshop will review writing scenarios, troubleshooting, handling debriefings and measuring impact in both high fidelity and low resource settings. In addition faculty will discuss use of simulation methodology to validate existing unit policies and incorporate certifications such as Basic Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation into annual training programs.
