Title: B3 - Pregnant Annie, Are You Okay?

Learning Objectives:
  1. Review the physiologic changes of pregnancy that affect resuscitation.
  2. Identify expected cognitive, behavioral and leadership performance in those less familiar with the ACLS algorithms and the need for modification with pregnancy.
  3. Discuss common questions regarding defibrillation and resuscitation medications in the pregnant patient.
Submission Description:
Obstetric providers are less familiar with the BLS and ACLS algorithms than their critical care and emergency department colleagues. The alterations in materanl anatomy and physiology during pregnancy require modifying these algorithms. Collaborative and interprofessional education is necessary to blend these disciplines to decreased maternal/fetal morbidity and mortality.
