 - Understand potential contribution of DNP to care of women, newborns, and families.

Doctor of Nursing Practice programs have been widely implemented across the US. During 2011,184 Schools of Nursing graduated 1600 DNPs who return to practice, or enter for the first time, with knowledge and skills that complement those of the existing workforce. These DNPs have the potential to significantly improve care and outcomes. This presentation will begin a dialog about the outcomes that can be expected and to identify best practices among those DNPs who are making important contributions to the care of women and newborns.
