- Understand the developmental stages of adolescence and how that influences educational efforts.
- Identify strategies used postpartum to promote continued health for the young mother and child.
There are some distinct differences in the pregnancy care of a teenager and this requires that the nurse be prepared to respond to their physical, cognitive and psychosocial status . Specific guidelines can be used in both the outpatient and inpatient setting that can improve patient oucomes in this vulnerable population
