  1. Describe the multi strain nature of the HPV virus and its causal relationship with cancers in men and women, including: cervical, vulvar, vaginal, anal, penile, and head and neck.
  2. Identify 3 risk factors and 2 HPV prevention strategies.
  3. Describe national recommendations for HPV vaccination and identify barriers and facilitators to vaccination
Submission Description:
The purpose of this presentation is to provide a comprehensive overview of current issues related to human papilloma virus (HPV) and the HPV vaccine. Specifically the presentation will focus on incidence, transmission and risk factors, prevention strategies and the causal relationship between HPV and numerous cancers in both men and women. A discussion of vaccinations, rates and trends in men and women in the United States will be covered as well as the latest guidelines for cervical cancer screening and Pap testing for women.
