Learning Objectives:
  • 1. Identify the practice changes necessary to appropriately measure blood pressure in pregnant and post-partum women.
  • 2.Describe an interprofessional approach to decreasing risk of stroke in pregnant or post-partum women.
  • 3. Outline how methodology and implementation strategies could be utilized in home institution to achieve the standardized, identification and treatment of pregnant/post-partum women presenting with hypertension.

  • Submission Description:
    Through implementation of the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC): Improving Health Care Response to Preeclampsia Toolkit, identify and treat severe preeclampsia and acute hypertension episodes to prevent maternal morbidity and mortality in perinatal care units and emergency department.

    The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
